DC Jammu Reviews Progress of Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway Project

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Rakesh Minhas, conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway project to assess progress and expedite execution.
During the site inspection, the Deputy Commissioner visited various stretches under Package 1, Package 2, Package 3A, and Package 3B, covering key locations including Bhagwati Nagar, Ganesh Vihar, Muthi, Domana, Ambaran, Chak Singha, and Hanuman Chowk.
Col. Ajat Shatroo Jamwal, General Manager, Project Management Unit, NHIDCL, briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the current status of the project and highlighted critical milestones achieved, as well as existing challenges.
The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the on-ground situation and issued firm directions to concerned agencies to resolve impediments and ensure timely completion. He emphasized the need for inter-agency coordination and reiterated full administrative support from the district administration.
A timeline of eight months has been set for completion of the remaining work, with the Deputy Commissioner urging all stakeholders to maintain momentum and adhere strictly to deadlines.
The Jammu-Akhnoor highway project, a key infrastructure initiative, is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity and ease traffic congestion upon completion.
